One of the region’s biggest highlights, the Southport Airshow returns to action from September 11-13 with three incredible days of family fun.

Since launching in 1991, the Southport Airshow has grown into one of the largest of its kind in the UK attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators each year. The three-day airshow includes a spectacular flying programme including state-of-the-art jets and helicopters plus aerobatic displays. Factor in parachute displays, a wide range of model aircraft zipping around and some of historical WWI and WWII planes, and you have a brilliant three-day event.
The fun isn’t just limited to the skies, however.

Down on the ground, the Southport Airshow includes flight simulators, static aircraft you can sit and pose in and even a diving tank crewed by a Marine. And if the super-charged atmosphere has you mainlining adrenaline, you can burn some off on the climbing walls, assault course and paintball range.

Fun for the family
There’s plenty for kids and families too. One of the best ways to enjoy the three-day festival is to bag a spot on Southport beach with a picnic and take in all the action while making hourly trips to the ice cream van. Plus, if you get down early enough, you can even park your car on the vast beach, bringing everything you need for the day.
