LEGO Bricks Display At The Atkinson...
Brick Wonders transports you around the world to ancient, modern & natural wonders, recreated from half a million LEGO bricks. The Great pyramid of Giza is the only one of the seven original wonders of the world still standing, but when you consider its' size - it's not surprising. At 482 ft (147m) tall with sides of 754 feet (230m) it's too big to even recreate fully in LEGO form! When complete the pyramid would have been clad in shining white stone - very little of which remains. So, we've chosen to highlight the craftsmen finishing off the last corner of the pyramid. Contrary to believe, the builders' weren't slaves but trained workers. Options vary on how many workers were needed, but it would have taken them at least 10 years to complete! Brick Wonders is on display at The Atkinson until 26 September 2020. https://www.theatkinson.co.uk/exhibition/brick-wonders/
