The Nightingale's Story "ON" The Atkinson
Sunday 15th March Brought to Sefton by the Borough of Culture, residents and visitors can enjoy a spectacular celebration of the Sefton Coastline. Using the three sites of Waterloo Town Hall (13th), Bootle Town Hall (14th) and The Atkinson, Southport (15th), a trilogy of large scale video projections will be created on consecutive nights, each a chapter in an interwoven story that connects the coastal towns and people together, as part of the Borough of Culture programme.
Working with local experts and knowledge, the projections are anchored through following the journey of the Natterjack Toad - the endangered amphibian who lives in the Sefton dunes. Known as the Birkdale Nightingale because of its extraordinary night time song, it becomes the character we follow , symbolising the growth and transition through ever changing stages of egg, tadpole, and toad - three chapters set across the three locations.

So whose playing this Friday? The Patchouli Brothers play raw & eclectic disco, house, jazz-funk, soul, and world sounds. They first began throwing parties in an Albanian dive bar in Toronto's east end, but have gone on to grace the stage at a spectrum of the city's establishments, and have played parties from California to Amsterdam. On Friday 13th March there's a tribute act performing at The Waterfront celebrating the legendary 50-year career of Sir Elton John.
Performed by the outstanding Joel Buckingham and his fabulous live band 'The Jets' I’m Still Standing takes you through an incredible legacy of great songs and music and features all the hits including Crocodile Rock, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Rocketman, Candle In The Wind, Don't Go Breaking My Heart, Tiny Dancer, Circle of Life and many more!

Saturday 14th March. Spanish cheese and wine tasting evening at The Pavillion on the corner of Eastbank Street and Lord Street with Gilli from Churchtown Deli. A selection of some of their favourite Spanish wines available along with Spanish cheeses that compliment each glass. Their staff will talk you through the choices and give a little insight to why they have chosen them. For those who wish to broaden their knowledge and enjoy a relaxed evening with other guests.
