Food heaven! Dates announced for the Food & Drink Festival

Tuck into some of the finest grub in the region at the annual Southport Food & Drink Festival, taking place from May 29-31.

It’s hard to say exactly what our favourite part of the Southport Food & Drink festival is. Obviously, there’s the food. And what food! Chefs, stalls and traders congregate from across the world to deliver the finest burgers, wings, pancakes, paella, curry, pies and more.

Or is it the fact it’s essentially the North West’s best party, a three-day fiesta where the whole of Southport is invited?

Held from May 29-31, the outdoor festival in Victoria Park is a riot of amazing smells, over 100 street food stalls, live music, DJs, entertainment and - fingers crossed - sunshine.

Or then again, it could be the fact it’s a free festival. So even if you somehow don’t pick up a hot-fried plate of churros or stop for a drink in the gin bar, you won’t have spent a penny. You can just sit back on the gorgeous grass and take in all the sights, smells and sounds.

Whatever our favourite part actually is, we do know that the Southport Food & Drink Festival is our favourite weekend of the year, hands down. We’ve been every year since it started in 2007 and we can’t wait to eat, drink and be merry with thousands of people at this year’s festival.

You’ll recognise us as we’ll be the first group of people waiting to get in at the doors at 10 am each morning!

One of our favourite spots at last years Food & Drink festival was Chantelle and Paul Spenders Flair n Funk area incollaboration with Audio Book. There were DJs (about 12 of them in total) playing on rotation, cocktails, flaring and nibbles. This area in our opinion should have had its own stage in the centre of the festival as it was certainly the most buzzing of all the vendors, we look forward to seeing them again at this years event.
