A Taste Of Egypt in Southport

The Fig Bistro is #3 out of #250 restaurants in Southport according to Trip Advisor and after spending an evening in there we now know why. Its a cosy Middle Eastern restaurant in the heart of the town with some amazing dishes and an eccentric owner who not only cooks the food but also goes from table to table speaking to every single customer making them feel right at home.

The Fig Bistro has been under new management since September 2015, the original restaurant known as Alamir Lebanese was opened in 1990. Their aim is to bring you authentic and tasty, home cooking style recipes, with fresh tastes from Egypt, North Africa and the Middle East.

Their menu is easy to choose from but big enough for their little kitchen to cope, if you are looking for an intimate Egyptian street-food style experience along with a warm and welcoming ambience then be sure to give them a try.

They have many dishes suitable for vegetarians and vegans alike as well as meat eaters. Their house wines are also suitable for vegans and chosen especially to pair beautifully with their food. For something special try the Lebanese wines, they are something else!

(Waiting room)

They are a small independent family business who very much pride themselves on making sure you enjoy your experience and come back, we will certainly be back.

WARNING: This is the tastiest Halloumi dish we have ever tried, the Middle Eastern spices and pomegranate sauce bounce off each other and cause an explosion in your mouth, we couldn't resist ordering a second plate.

The Fig Bistro is only open Friday through to Sunday, please call to make a reservation or visit their web site www.thefigbistro.com
